A while ago I described this technique in a journal, but it might have been difficult to understand so I thought I would write a full tutorial. I'm finding this extremely useful when making my own images, and I hope it will help you too.

Uberspot is available here: [link] You do not need it for this tutorial, but it is one of my "must-have" items for any serious Studio user.

If you have any problems, first check to make sure both spotlights are in the exact same position (all parameters must be the same except shadows), and that you haven't activated shadows on the wrong light. If you still have trouble, feel free to let me know!

Thanks for taking a look!

edit: corrected a couple of spelling errors.

I have DAZ 4, but the UI change is bewildering and DAZ 4 cannot find my content often and it crashes too. So, I stick with DAZ 3

Ah, I see. Studio 4 does have the Darkside interface, which is very similar to DS3's. If it's crashing for you though, I don't know what the problem could be. :(

Which version of DAZ Studio has the little gear, by Intensity ?

Mine does not.

Hm, I think the gear has been there for quite a while. Are you still using DAZ Studio 3?

SnowSultan, I have a question, would the settup you have on your spotlights work the exact same if you were using Distance lights instead or is this only for spotlights?

I have not tested this with Distant Lights, but I imagine it will work as long as both lights are pointing in exactly the same direction. I don't use any spotlight-specific settings when I do this (like Barndoors or that sort of thing). I'll have to try it later, thanks for suggesting it!

I'll try it as well... might as well since the DAZ forums just went down... we can lay that squarely on Justin and Julie mania! :P
Thanks for the reply :)
